Maple Leafs Announce Squad for Abby 7's
The Canadian Maple Leafs have announced their squad for the Abbotsford International 7's Tournament that will be led by 8 graduates of the Canadian U-20 program. The Canadian Maple Leafs Team are designed to develop the next generation of Sevens players in Canada and are funded in large part through the Canadian Rugby Foundation.
The Abbotsford Sevens Tournament is Canada's first international Sevens tournament and will feature teams from South Africa, New Zealand, Kenya, Fiji and Canada. The Maple Leafs will be led by National Seven's coach Morgan Williams, alongside Joe Haley and Jeff Williams.
The Maple Leafs will be led by Andrew Crow who captained the Canadian Under-20 team in Russia this year at the Junior World Trophy. Alongside Crow will be U-20 veteran Connor Braid who was recently called up by National Coach Kieran Crowley to the Churchill Cup and played in his first match for Canada against the England Saxons in the finals.
Ontario native and Canadian sevens player Taylor Paris, is only 17 years old but will provide some experience to the Maple Leafs Team having traveled to Uruguay with the Maple Leafs last year before being selected to the national 7's team. Jeff Hassler of Okotoks, Alberta recently was one of three U-20’s who won the Stuart Pegg Award being recognized as the top players voted on by their team mates for their performances at the Junior World Rugby Trophy in Russia.

Springbok legend Mark Andrews confirmed alongside Serevi
Former Springbok legend Mark Andrews has confirmed that he will compete in the Abbotsford International Sevens Tournament July 24th-25th. Andrews, alongside confirmed guest player former Fijian superstar Waisale Tikoisolomoni Serevi, are surely to provide experience and excitement to the 2nd annual tournament.
Andrews made his international debut against England in Cape Cod in June 1994 when South Africa won 27-9. Andrews went on to win 77 caps for the Springboks, making him the most capped forward in their history. He was also a member of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship Team in South Africa and helped South Africa win it's first ever Tri-Nations in 1998. He participated in his second World Cup in 1999 and stepped down from the international stage in 2001.
